What do you think of a heart shaped wedding cake?
I plan to have a simple three tier heart shaped wedding cake. I plan to have red roses and glass couple figurine on top. I probably will have heart shaped one layer cakes as well. Does it sound too traditional or unique?

Heart shaped is very traditional. My mom and I make wedding cakes and have not used the heart shape in some time. We are inundated with requests for round and square. We have always told brides that it is a reflection of you, not your guests. You will not please everyone who attends. Impossible. There will always be someone who will think you should have done it this way or that way. As far as not being able to tell it is heart-shaped -- umm, yeah you can. Unless you're 2-3 feet tall looking at "eye level." Most cake tables are regular tables and unless you have a 4 foot tall (or taller) cake, people can tell the shape. Bottom line - you want heart - go with heart.
